FAHRENHEIT 451 by Ray Bradbury

Fahrenheit 451 is a fiction that happens in the future that received a national book award. The book’s title is the temperature at which paper burns. In this society, firemen burn books instead of putting the fire off because books are illegal products in this society. People are addicted to TVs and not happy about their lives. People are brainwashed by the government and have no emotions like robots and it is very similar from our society. In our world, people don't talk much. Instead, they watch television or use their phones. The government wants to control the world by making the citizens suffer at some places in our world and in Montag's society. In this book, the government kills innocent people to make people think they are strong and never fail.

  

Montag is the main character in this book. He is a firefighter but, he tries to save books because of his friend Clarisse. He has a wife called Mildred who spends most of the day in front of television. She is very disappointed about this society. His boss Captain Beatty thinks that books should disappear. Faber used to be a professor and tries to help Montag from danger he has.

 

      Montag was returning home from the fire station. While he was walking he met a woman. She was strange. Her name was Clarisse McClellan. She liked to talk and is very active. In her society talking and being active are not considered social. They became close friends and came back home. When he was home, Mildred was lying on the bed and had eaten sleeping pills. She didn’t have only one or two. She had a whole jar so she was almost going to die. She was trying to commit suicide. Montag took Mildred to a hospital. She had a surgery but, something was strange. There were no doctors but technicians because the doctors were working in other places. There were too many people who were committing suicide.

 

     One day, Montag met Clarisse again. She talked about herself.

 

     Montag was going to burn an old lady’s books. While he was burning the books, he found a book that fell in to his arms. He took it and burned the rest of them. He stole a book even if his job was to destroy books. Montag then tried to take the lady out. However, she sain that she wanted to disappear with her house so she finally passed away. Montag heard that Clarisse died by a car accident. However, Montag thought that it wasn’t. He thought that she was murdered by the government.

 

     Another day, Beatty tried to visit Montag. Montag became very afraid because he had books under his pillows. If Beatty saw the books, Montag would get a huge punishment. He tried to give excuses but that didn’t work much. When Beatty was in, he told why he thought books should be destroyed.

 

     Montag met Faber who used to be a professor. He agreed to help Montag with his plan. He wanted to hide books in other firemen’s house and make them punished and make more copies of the book that he got. Faber gave a seashell to Montag to communicate with him. Like a walkie-talkie. Faber was going to St. Louis to get a copier and get copies.

 

     There were Mildred’s friends in Montag’s house but Montag made them annoyed and showed the poetry that he has stolen. The ladies left because they were frightened and said they never wanted to meet him again.

 

     Montag was going back to work and the alarm rang. The firemen were driving to the destination. The place they stopped was Montag’s house. Mildred was the informant. Beatty saw the shell that he was putting on his ears. Montag noticed that he is trying to hurt Faber. So, Montag killed Beatty.

 

     When Montag went to Faber’s, he tried to escape and run away from the police. He took dirty clothes, whiskey, and a suitcase. It would make him not like Montag. When he came back home, the whole thing were gone and the police were searching for Montag. Some men came and helped him escape. They showed Montag a screen. The police were trying to kill an innocent man. They couldn’t tell the citizens that they failed. After, the men talked about them and what is happening. They were all named with names of authors and books. They were trying to remember the mistakes that they’re society and the government made.

 

I really liked this book because it is very interesting and gave me lessons such as it’s never right to take care only of themselves when everyone are suffering. It has events that were exciting such as when Montag was trying to escape the city and have sad moments when Clarisse passed away. I was very satisfied to read this kind of book so; I want to recommend this book to all the people who has the ability to read this book. It impressed me in some parts such as when Montag risks his life to safe Faber. I think it is a very good book because there is a movie called Fahrenheit 451. If there is a movie, this means that the director and lots of people love this story.

Hunger game

THE HUNGER GAMES

The Hunger Games is a story in the future. Panem is in the North America and it has twelve districts and Capitol. There were thirteen but one disappeared by war. The Capitol people lives much better than the other people in the twelve districts. Panem holds the Hunger Games every year. In the games, boy and a girl are selected in each district and they need to kill each other. The person who only left wins.

Katniss is a girl from district 12. She shoots arrow very well. She can kill an animal by shooting right in to its eye. She volunteers instead of Prim during the reaping. Reaping is when they are selecting tributes. Tributes are the kids who are selected.

Peeta is also in district 12. He was selected too. He is a baker’s son. He once burnt bread on purpose to give Katniss and he got punished. His mom didn’t let him to throw away normal bread.

Haymitch is Katniss and Peeta’s mentor. He is not interested in his work. He is always drunk because of the pain during the games. He is the only winner in district 12.

Gale is Katnis’s friend. He always hunts with Katniss. He separated with her because she needed to go to the games.



Katniss hunts and sells the meat to the peace keepers. Peace keepers are the police in the Capitol. She often hunts with Gale. He shoots arrow very well too.

The reaping day came! Prim was selected. It was same in her dream. In her dream, she was selected too. Just then Katniss volunteers for her. Next, Peeta gets selected. Katniss was shocked. She needed to kill someone who helped her.

Prim says good bye to her. Gale tells her to make bow and arrows. Mayor’s daughter Madge gave her a mocking jay pin. Mocking jay is abird that is born between a jabber jay and a mocking bird. It can follow human’s voice. Peeta’s father came and gave her cookies. Cookies are very luxurious in the districts. He is giving cookies to her even she needs to kill his son.

In the train going to the Capitol, Peeta and Katniss meets they’re mentor Haymitch. He was drunk. Katniss and Peeta didn’t believe him much.

Soon the parade starts. Katnis’s styler Cinna made a dress that looks like it was burning. When the parade started people cheered for her. Everyone was paying attention to Katniss and Peeta.

The training center is where tributes are practicing for the games. Haymitch is coaching Katniss and Peeta. They were shooting arrow and throwing knives. Later Peeta wants Haymitch to teach by himself. Peeta wanted to learn special things. Katniss felt betrayal and happiness together. She felt happiness because she needed to kill him. The Gamemakers are people who control the game. They didn’t care about Katniss a lot. She was angry so she shot an arrow right into the apple in the pig’s mouth. She thought she would get the worst training score but she got 11! The highest!

At the interview, Katniss wore a dress that was covered in precious gems. Cinna told her to be honest as possible. When Peeta was talking, Katniss was angry because he was lying that he loved her. Peeta wanted to get more sponsored.

The game started. It started at the Cornucopia. Cornucopia is where the supplies are. Others fought for supplies but, Katniss ran backwards because Haymitch told her to run away because lots of people get killed. Katniss almost died because of the tributes. At night it said 13 tributes died. Peeta didn’t die.

The career tributes were getting together. They prepared a lot for the games. They train a lot for the Games and volunteer when they are 18 years old. They made Peeta joined them because he is the only one who knew where Katniss is.

The Career tributes once tried to kill Katniss. Thy surrounded the tree that Katniss was staying. Rue a tribute told to drop a nest. It was the tracker jacker’s nest. Tracker jacker is a huge wasp that has a very strong poison. Glimmer and a girl from district 4 died because Katniss dropped a tracker jacker’s nest. Others got few shots but didn’t die. The Career tributes tried to kill Peeta because they didn’t succeed.

Rue is a girl from district 11. She is weak but she could live very well in the forest. Katniss and Rue united. They were having a nicer time than the others. A sad thing happened. Rue got killed. A boy from district 1 killed her. Katniss killed him. People from district 11 sent it. She was good to Rue.

Katniss heard that if both tributes in same district are left, they are both winners. Katniss searched for Peeta. Peeta was in the mud. He was hiding. He was injured a lot. He was burnt, hit by a knife and, stings by the tracker jackers. Katniss washed him and cured him. They killed others and gathered food. They’re shelter was a cave near the water.

They saw strange creatures. They were mutes. Katniss realized that it was made by the dead tributes. They were programmed to hate the others. Cato! One of the last three tributes. They fought on the Cornucopia. Cato strangled Peeta’s neck. Peeta seem to die because of suffocation. Katniss shot Cato’s arm where Peeta made an X with his fingers. Cato fell down. The mutes attacked him.

Katniss and Peeta waited until they got out. However, the game wasn’t finished. The rule changed. Only one tribute could win. Katniss knew that the Capitol had to have a winner. She told Peeta to swallow poisonous berries called. Suddenly there was an announcement. It said that the winners of the Hunger games were Peeta and Katniss.

Katniss and Peeta got cured. Later, they watched the highlight show. Katniss didn’t want to watch it because she didn’t want to see the tributes dying again. First, there was the part when the tributes fought for the supplies. Next, the careers surrounded Katniss but she droped the nest of tracker jackers. Then, Rue’s death. However, they didn’t show the part when Katniss gave flowers to Rue. Then the mutes’ appearance and Cato’s death. Last, the when Katniss and Peeta were eating berries. Katniss felt she should be blamed because she tricked the Game makers.

There were the final interviews. She knew that it was the time to tell that she did not trick the Capitol people. Ceasar Flickerman asked some questions. The hardest question was that she really loved Peeta and, how she felt when she had the berries. After the interview, all the crowds were all laughing, hugging and crying.

She packed and rode a train that went to district 12. She had new dangers facing her. She now needed to be the mentor of district 12. She needed to go to the victor’s village to live. Then, she cannot live with Gale as often as they did.

This book was fantastic. It gave me excitement enjoyment and sadness at one time! Katniss was very brave. She didn’t give up even when she was injured. She was my favorite character. Peeta was also brave but he didn’t do as much during the games. He could live because Katniss. But, I respect his courage. I didn’t like Haymitch so much. He was always drunk and not good in his work. I hate the Gamemakers. They are not fair! They are killing children! I want to recommend this book to my friends. It inspired me and gave me courage.

Number The Stars

     Number the stars' is a realistic fiction. The story is about a Danish girl and her family helping a Jewish family escape from the Nazis. During World War II the Nazis were killing Jews because they thought the Jews were doing evil things.

     The story takes place in Denmark during the World War II. Annmarie is a danish girl who has a Jewish friend. She helps her even if a Jewish girl. She needs to escape not to be captured by the nazis. Kirsti is Annmarie's baby sister. She is not scared of the Nazis and she doesn't know what is happening. It's a story of friendship abd courage. It is a wonderful story.

     Annemarie was playing with Ellen when the German soldiers came to them. Ellen ran away. Annemarie didn't know why. The soldiers asked questions. Annemarie was a bit scared so she gave short answers but kirsti was not scared because she was young. when Annemarie came back home. she learned about her sister, Lise. She died in an accident two weeks before her wedding. she wanted to be special, so she shook her hands to the king. One day Reter visited Annemarie. Then she understood Ellen was in danger. Peter was Lise's fiance. Then one day she saw that the stores run by the Jews were all closed and there was a swastika on the stores and the jew all disappeared. The Nazis found out the Danish Jews with a list of names from their Synagogue. There were not enough supplies so the Danes suffered a lot. Annemarie and Ellen needed to pretend they were sisters to protect Ellen. One day the German soldiers came to the Johansen to search for Jews. The Nazis were looking strangely at Ellen because Annemarie and Ellen had different hair color. So Mrs Johansen showed Lise's pictures. They had to quickly get rid of the story of David necklace. The next day Annemarie heard her father talking in codes so she understood that the Rosens were escaping. They were going to Gilleleje but Mrs.Johansen didn't go with them because they needed to pretend that the were traveling. The Danes were speaking in codes bacause they needed to hide their plans from the Nazis. When the trip finished they prepared the supplies for the Jews. They put them in a casket. They acted like there was a funeral to hide what they prepared. The Jews planed to go to Sweden to be safe because the country was not controlled by the Nazis. Annemarie was sad that Ellen was leaving but it was a better way for Ellen to survive. Annemarie brought secret things to uncle Henrik to help the Jews. Annemarie had surprising news Peter and Lise were          in the resitance Peter was busy getting newspapers for people. Then one day the Danes celebrated that the Jews safely escaped and that the war has ended. When the celebration had been over she heard Peter was shot on his arm and Lise had died because of a car accident. Now the Rosen will live freely.

       I was very impressed because Annemarie and the Dames helped the Danish Jews escapes safely. I want to recommed this book to my friends because it is a wonderful story. We can understand new things while reading.

Old Yeller

The story begins in Salt Licks in 1860s. It was the time when the settlers arrived in America. This book is a realistic fiction. This book is written by Fred Gipson. Old Yeller has won lots of awards.


Travis has to cat as the man of family. He is leading his family very well.

Old Yeller is a dog. His name is Old Yeller because his hair was dingy yellow and when he barks, it sounds like yelling. Arliss is Travis' little brother. He throws rocks when he is angry at someone.

Travis' dad left the house to sell cattle. He told Travis to be man of the house. If he takes care of the family well, he would bring him a horse. Jumper is a dun mule with narrow black stripes. He didn't listen to what Travis told, so he beat him. Jumper thought it was quitting time.

The next day Travis found a stray dog. He appeared in the storage house. He ate up meat and corn bread. Travis started to kick the dog Old Yeller. Then Arliss came and he was very excited, then he was angry because Travis was hitting the dog.

When Arliss was throwing racks at him, mama came out and stopped him. Travis told her that he didn't like that dog, however mama told it was unfair because Travis had a dog but Arliss didn't. Travis was upset; on the other hand Arliss loved the dog.

The next day he went hunting to catch a doe. He couldn't take Jumper because he was loud and scared of gun. His plan to shoot a doe is when they came to lick the Salt Licks

He couldn't shoot one because they were too fast and Arliss was shouting. When he was back home, Arliss was bathing Old Yeller in their drinking water. Travis shouted at Arliss so Arliss threw rocks at him.

Travis had a plan Travis wanted his mama to see Old Yeller sealing so he hung a piece of venison in front of him. The next morning the venison was just right there. Travis saw two bulls fighting to see what was the strongest. The cabin was in danger. Travis wanted Old Yeller to stop those two bulls but he didn't because he was scared of whip.

Something funny happened. The cart was rolling down the hill carrying one of the bulls. Then the other licked the spinning wheels and it hurt a lot. Arliss had a habit. Every day he stored frogs, snakes and insects in his pocket. His mama needed to check his pockets every afternoon. Even if his mom punished him, he kept on doing it. Arliss caught a cub! He was too scared to let it go. Mama bear was running towards him. Then Old Yeller saved Arliss. He made the bear follow him. He was a hero!!! After Travis started to like him, he petted him and gave treats. He washed Old Yeller. He hunted squirrel to fry them. A gobbler that Travis wanted to hurt, run away because Arliss shouted but Old Yeller drove it back. Old Yeller wasn't having any of the gobblers because he was probably stealing food. Bud Searcy who had a red face and liked to visit the settlement came to Travis' house. He told the Coates family to talk about something that was stealing food. Lisbeth who is Bud Searcy's granddaughter knew the truth. Old Yeller was stealing food. Travis checked if Lisbeth was true. He brought three eggs to Old Yeller, he didn't eat them. Lisbeth was right!! Travis was scared that if people knew Old Yeller was stealing, they would kill him. First, he tied him up with a strong rope, however Old Yeller bit it. Next, he locked him in a cage, however he howled so Arliss saw it and he was mad. So finally Old Yeller was sleeping with Travis.

Travis and Old Yeller needed to sleep in the corn field because varmints were attacking the crops. Travis and Old Yeller fought with a heifer to milk it. Old Yeller bit her nose. He tied up the heifer. Travis nearly died because a man came and claimed Old Yeller. His name was Burn Sanderson. He was Old Yeller's owner. Arliss heard that Burn was taking him so he threw rocks at him. Burn made trade instead of giving Old Yeller, his mama had dog cook for him. Arliss accepted the deal. Burn told about hydrophobia. If Travis saw a animal that had hydrophobia he had to shoot it. After Burn told things about hydrophobia, Travis had night mares. Dog and wolves were biting mama and Arliss. They became crazy.

In winter, when hogs gathered dried leaves and wood sticks, the next day blizzard would come. Travis marked the pigs to know which hogs were theirs. He folded their ears and sulked three corners, gaps at the top and he slashed of a big strip the left ears. He counted the ears to check how many pigs were born last year. Bud Searcy came again to tell that Travis his pigs were trapped in a cave. Travis went to rescue them. When he was trying to catch the pigs, he fell on dirt and carried him down. The pigs tried to attack him. Old Yeller tried to help him. He was cat. He had a huge hog cut. He went to call his mother. Mama needed to take care of cats because hog cuts are very dangerous. She poured turpentine on his cut and washed it. They saw blizzards flying in the sky. Mama sent Arliss catch blizzards because she didn't want him to see Old Yeller's after. She saw Old Yeller and she sieves his wound with Jumper's hair. Back home mama needed to do all the chores. Bud Searcy came to give them puppy. Lisbeth showed Travis the puppy.

However he was sick so it was hard for him to take care of it.

Bud Searcy also let Lisbeth help with their chores. Mama didn't like it because she was just a tiny girl. That was a huge mistake. Lisbeth was a very good helper.

The next few days, Spot and a Roan bull were strange. Spot didn't come at milking time, she was running past the house, she was not feeding her calf, and she was getting weaker and weaker. The bull growled and got aggressive. He ran towards Arliss and Lisbeth so Travis shot the bull.

Travis burned the carcass. He didn't it because Animals could eat it and be infected and the water could become dirty. I took 2 day and nights to burn it.

Travis also killed Spot because she had hydrophobia too. Mama was sad to kill her because spot made lots of milk and she was a good cow.

Travis wanted to meet his father as fast as he could because he was scared of hydrophobia and he wanted to know what kind of horse his father would bring him.

Travis was worried. Mama and Lisbeth were not coming home. Then his mama hollered to Travis. Mama told Travis to bring a gun. Old Yeller was fighting with a mad big loafer wolf. The wolf bit Old Yeller's neck. Then Travis shot the wolf with his gun.

Mama told Travis they must kill Old Yeller because maybe he might have hydrophobia. If Travis couldn't mama would do it. So Travis shot Old Yeller.

Travis couldn't sleep or eat. He was hurt a lot. Then his father came. He told Travis that if he only thought bad parts of life he couldn't enjoy the good parts like the puppy and the horse Papa brought him. Travis felt better because the puppy reminded him of Old Yeller.

The story was incredible because it was exciting and impressive. I want to recommend this book to my friends. The reason is it's easy and fun. This book is helpful to study English because, there are lots of English words that we can study, and it’s not very hard.

Alice in wonderland

Alice was with her sister. She was bored and she saw a taking white rabbit.
The rabbit went in a hole. So she followed it.

She floated and in the rabbit hole there were cups and cupboards. She fell to a room and nearly fell a sleep. Then she found a small door. She couldn't go in because she was too big. She found a bottle and it said "Drink Me" So she drank it and she got small so she could go in but she couldn't because the key was on a high table. Then she found a cake with "Eat Me"on it. So she ate the cake. She grew big and she couldn't go inside the door. She was three meters high. She cried lots of tears and made a pool. Alice floated away in the tears.

Alice met a mouse and it was angry because she talked a boat cats then she was in the woods and she met a talking caterpillar. Alice couldn't describe her self well. she wanted to get bigger so the caterpillar told her to eat a piece of mushroom. One side of the mushroom would get her tall. She was the same as the tallest tree in the wood.

A fish boy knocked a door and it had a letter for the Duchess. Alice went up and knocked. There was a cat grinning. There was the Duchess and she had to go to play croquet. Alice held the baby but it turned into a pig. There was a creshire cat and Alice wanted to go somewhere so.
The cat told her to go to the Hatter and rabbit's home.

They were having a strange tea party. The Hattes told her to have some coffee but there was no coffee. It was always sixo clock there. Alice left. She met gardeners. They planted white roses but the queen only liked red ones. The Queen came and cut their heads and the Duchess would be killed. Alice played croquet and it was strange. A ball was a headghog and the mallets were flamingoes.

During the trial there was a letter and it didn't make any sense. Alice got big then the cards started to fall on Alice. She woke up. It was a long dream.

Elephants and their senses

Elephant are the biggest animals in the world.
Their weight equals the weight of 250 five years old kids.
They suck water with their noses and drink it.
They take a bath in a lake or mud.
Elephant can hear and listen well but they can't see well.
When they are hot they use their ears and fan or they put water on their bodies.
Baby elephants dig to play but adults dig to eat salt and water.
Baby elephants pratice eating grass.
They fallow their mothers all day long.
They love to play in the water and breath with their long noses.
They dig the ground and go in and out.
When elephants sleep other elephants protect weak elephants and baby elephants.
There are some white birds called Bek-Ro who eat bugs on elephants.
When it doesn't rain a lot and there is no water they move where there is a lot of water.
They fight with their ivory and they peel trees from their bark.
Elephants are endangered because people want to take their ivory and they hunt them.

Che Mu sun

Che Mu Sun made the first rocket weapon called Singojon.
It could go very far and fast.
We won against thity-thousands Chinese soldiers with only two thousands eight hundreds soldiers!
If we didn't have Che Mu Sun, We couldn't win aginst Chinese soldiers!
They didn't have electricity but he invented an arrow equiped with a bomb!
The Chinese lost and let 24ooo soldiers and ran away.
That bomb's name is Ju Hwa.
And when we shoot, there is fire on the arrow!
So the short rocket could travel a 100m.
The medium rocket could travel a 150 m.
The large rocket could travel a 1000 m.
We used the large rocket when enemies were far away.
We used the medium rocket when enemies were a little far away.
We used the short rocket when enemies were near us.
